Buying a Laptop Computer

For the most part, I’m not sure about you, but I think of a laptop as essentially all the same..
A small little computer, brief cased sized that helps me get things done on the road.

There are so many companies who now offer state of the art laptops, not the least of which are Apple, Compac, Dell and many others, that its hard to decide which one  is the right one.

The four main categories of laptops, are Ultralights, which weigh no more than four pounds each, are ideal for travel be it plane train or automobile, because carrying it isn’t an issue however they don’t for the most part have internal network cards, so you have to bring an external one with you.
They are also relatively expensive to purchase as laptops go.

Laptops actually start at just about 300 GBP now.

The Notebook, is essentially a laptop but is about 5-6 pounds in weight. A little heavier than the ultralight, it has a few more options due to having a little more space to work with.
It has a combination bay, CD drives and several other options there weren’t room for in the ultra trendy ultralight laptop.

The Standard, Laptop, commonly just called a laptop, is meatier, weighing in at about 8-9 pounds, but offers the full meal deal.
These are what techno freaks call the technological pack mule.
This guy has it all and does it all, and when considering cost to performance, you can’t beat the price or the value. Due to their popularity, combined with their design and usability, it’s not uncommon to find discounts on these from major manufacturers. Other types of laptops, which fall into more specialized categories, tend to be in the higher price ranges. The bottom line is, of the four main types of laptops, the standard is the most economical for the most reasonable amount of money.

Compac Laptop

Extra Large – Although this  have a technical name, i since they weigh between eight and ten pounds and have a screen that measures at least 17 inches.

A PC in a briefcase.. The keyboard is bigger, the use is easier, its frankly just about everything a pc is, and is portable in addition.

There are a couple of downfalls  not the least of which includes its weight. There can be a four pound difference between the weight of a standard and an extra large laptop – and that’s quite a bit, when you think about dragging it about all day long.The other is the pricetag, which is every bit as heavy as its weight.

The purchase of a laptop comes down to personal preference, and there are enough styles, prices, options and operating systems  in the laptop community to impress just about anyone.

. For those who can’t decide and just want “a laptop,” then it’s probably better to stick to the standard model.
