Buying A Personal Computer

Choosing a computer can be a difficult undertaking, but before beginning to select one, decide first what it is that you want it for.
Gaming? Office work, or keeping track of things, spread sheets?
Or all of the above? Every computer will do different tasks according to what you want, but not all of them will excel at every task.
A gaming computer is far more complex by necessity than one that  is only going to be used for spreadsheets and word processing.

Computers are going down in price so much in recent years that buying the most powerful you can afford is always a good idea, however if you are budgeting, then select the one that has the properties you are going to use most often.

The most powerful computers you’re going to get these days will serve gamers, servers, scientists and physicians.
Probably thats priority in the right order.

Do’nt necessarily go for name brand, if there is a chance that you will be upgradeing in the next few years again.
Name brand companies tend to be very proprietary and will get you hooked on having to purchase their type components which will usually have at least a 25 percent markup over other components that are used in generic systems.

Aside from that aspect of it, most major PC makers are not really the manufacturers of the components, they are merely the one putting them together,. Very often they are just the maker of the final machine.

If you’ve got some experience consider building your own. Its far less expensive and a great deal easier than you might think, with the indivicual components adding up to only about 2/3 what you will pay for the fully deal, even considering a new case and keyboard.

If the only thing you want to do is word processing, home bills, basic games and browsing, probably you are the average usef and don’t really need a high end, state of the art system.
There are many companies who sell used computers, which were replaced by those who need the high end machines. They are probably as much as you’re going to need and will save you a lot of money in the long run.
Select as much as you think you will need, and if you can’t do the job yourself choose a company who will let you specify the components you want inside rather than simply offering you, with your own personal needs, the same computer they offer to everyone else.
