Electronic Window Treatments

One of the more upscale modern window treatments are the electronic ones, which provide that you can open your draperies and the blinds that lie beneath them with one switch.

Its easy, its convenient and it doesn’t take Hercules to see to it that the curtains open using the often sticky track and stick that is normally used.

Lutron Electronics, back in 2001 pioneered a control system that would communicate with a window treatment, in this case, blinds, or shades that another company had produced.

Everyone loves their windows… or do they.

There may be a time when the paint is chipped, or the view outside isn’t what you might like it to be, such as a late fall when mud has accumulated over everything and the sight of it is less than the view you want to present to a guest or visitor.

Thanks to these new ideas in window treatments, its the work of a single moment to close out that view and bring across your own lovely window treatments to enhance the room instead.

There are other reasons you might want to blot out the view from outside, particularly in summertime when the sunlight can cast a glare on the television set, the book you are reading or the computer screen you are attempting to see.
This is distracting and hard on the eyes, and if you can close it without having to get up and struggle with the blinds and curtains, why wouldn’t you use that technology.

The idea of not having to leave the room I am in, and to be able to take a remote control to close my blinds appeals to me, in that there are times, I’ll admit, I just don’t want to get up and wrestle the draperies into obedience.

An electronically controlled window treatment looks quite a bit like a regular window treatment. The draperies or curtains, whichever you’re using, are attached to a rod that does not differ a great deal in appearance from the regular one, other than a small built in motor that moves the draperies and blinds for your convenience.

You are then given a remote control, much like the television one that can be used to conveniently close your curtains, drapes or blinds without the slightest inconvenience.

According to the Electronic House, there are other reasons to purchase them, not the least of which is letting in natural light and balancing it.
