Selecting a Dryer
When you start shopping for a dryer, there are just a few things you will need to consider, such as, what the “absolute must have” features on the dryer are, as well as what conveniences or options you’d like and what brand has the lowest breakdown ratio, the best service and support for their product.
If you are prepared before you head out to do your shopping, you are going to greatly reduce your own confusion as well the time you spend shopping for the dryer.

An Electric dryer will be easier to install in most cases
Gas dryers do save on costs, in most areas costing less than the electric ones to operate but also require extra installations, such as gas lines and do still require the use of electricity to make the tumbler operate, so in reality, perhaps an electric dryer will be the best bet for your home situation.
Electric models cost less, and both dryers require outside venting of the pipe to the outside.
The capacity you want will depend largely on what, and how much you’re going to be drying.
THe normal capacities are 25 to 29 full, and oversized which have about 7 cubic feet capacity, as well as smaller models, which will hold around 2 cubic feet, that may be sufficient for smaller families or couples.
Personally, with pets, and having to wash more laundry and throw rugs and etc, I could not be without a full size or oversized laundry load.
The Dryers performance is also going to be a strong selling point, for anyone who is concerned with saving money and these days, who isn’t..

Kenmore Electric Dryer
Choose a higher performance rating and efficiency model by selecting a dryer with a moisture or dryness sensor, which will shut off the dryer when the clothing is dry as well as wrinkle free options to permit you to have a cool down cycle and reduce ironing.
YOu will also want to choose one with the lower energy rating for use to save money on the monthly electric bill
A few conveniences that you should take into account are where the lint filter is located.. in the door or on top.
This is personal preference, however I like mine on the top to eliminate so much bending and stooping.
The noise that the dryer makes also is a factor in whether or not you will select it, depending of course on where in the home the dryer is going to be located.. in a laundry room off a kitchen or adjoining room in the house, you will want more silencing features, than will be necessary if it is in a basement or outside laundry room.
Dryers range in price from about 150 pounds to well over 500 depending on the features that you decide you’d like
High tech models that are more stylish and feature glass enhanced controls and extra cycles will of course cost more than just the basic “must haves”.
