Buy a Kitchen Table
The kitchen market has expanded greatly in the last decade, meaning there are all types of kitchen sets available to your family. Before just jumping in the car and heading to a furniture show room, however, you may want to do some online research to narrow down the range of choices in both design and features.

A Dinette in the kitchen offers convenience
Most importantly, get out a measuring tape and carefully check the available space for a table. Make sure you leave enough room for pulling out chairs (2+ feet). With that measurement in hand, surf around the Internet and see what styles appeal to you and what makes sense for your family. Glass is pretty but not as durable as other choices and it also shows dirt readily. Wood is durable and warm, but can be damaged by heat or water. Then there’s tile, marble, etc. etc. Each of these options comes with different price tags too, marble and other stones ranking at the high end.
As you’re considering what style fits your home and kitchen, remember your family’s size and entertaining habits. If you want to seat guests regularly you’ll want a larger table or one that can expand (by adding inserts or by opening the ends). The nice part about a table with these features is that it saves space when not in immediate use. Additionally, an expanding table becomes a functional workspace for crafts, homework, and balancing the budget!

Bear in mind that your table speaks volumes about the way you eat. Is your family formal or laid back? Do you like centerpieces or white space? Do you want guests to be able to easily reach items on the table, or will you pass food? Each of these kinds of questions should be reviewed before buying to make sure your investment serves a diversity of household needs.
Finally look at the chairs. Are they sturdy? Will the cats want to claw them? Are they comfortable for a longer, sit-down dinner? Do they match the design of your overall space? Are the high enough for comfortable dining? The best way to answer these questions is to try them out! Make this a family outing so you can see how the table and chairs work when you’ll all gathered together.
Good shopping!
