Food Savers, Vacuum Sealers
It’s a terrible shame to waste food. Food savers give frugal house makers another way to save money and often some time too. Food savers lock in flavor and nutrients, and they can increase the freezer life of various edibles. They’re also a great way to fast marinate meats.
There are a lot of options on the market right now, but a few things will help you make the right choice. Many manufacturers of small appliances now offer food saver options. However, the companies that specialize in food savers typically have more diversity to offer.

Food sealer systems may initially cost about 100 pounds but are well worth it in what they save
For example, you will probably want to be able to remove the air from not just food storage bags but also containers/canisters.
Food saver companies tend to offer those kinds of options to consumers.
There are two main types of vacuum sealers.
One is a chamber vacuum which is very suitable to even delicate foods. These are considered the high end of vacuum sealing. The average warranty is 2 years, and the price isn’t bad.
Commercial systems like this are typically designed to handle large amounts of food (like a whole turkey). The other is a standard food sealer where you attach a specially designed bag to the sealer, turn it on, and the machine vacuums out the air then seals the bag. You do need to check these when you’re done to make sure there’s a complete seal for food safety. Sometimes if the bag is inserted incorrectly small openings won’t seal (and the vacuum won’t hold).
Small counter top sealers start at a refreshing price of around 25 euros. More complex models with accessories can run upward of $140 euros. If you can afford to buy the accessories at the outset it’s less expensive than adding them on after your purchase.
