No Sew Pet Sleeping Pad
Give your pet a soft cuddly place to sleep with a minimum of fuss by putting together this fleece sleeping pad for your dog or cat.
Based on their size, make sure you measure it long enoug and wide enough to allow them to stretch out if thats how they sleep.
Materials you will need:
1 yard of fleece fabric in a solid color
1 yard fleece fabric in print.
one yard or one bag of quilt batting
this works up in no time, and costs about 10 GBP to make
Directions:
measure your fleece and cut to fit the length and width you want your pet pillow to be PLUS TWO INCHES
Lay the two pieces together, right sides facing outward.
cut a square out of the corner of each one, measuring about two inches by two inches.
Make a cut from the edge of the fabric, in about two inches, and do this every inch and half around the pillow.
Take the top fringe, and tie to the bottom fringe, all the way around the pillow, making your ties alternate. (that is to say, tie the bottom fringe over top on one tie and the top fringe over the bottom on the second tie)
When you have tied three sides stop and fill the pillow with about an inch thick filling of batting or pillow stuffing.
(you’re going to want to make this as thick as you can without making the pillow hard to tie, so that when your pet lies on it, the padding gives them some added warmth and pad under them. I prefer quilt batting that is cuttable and done in yardage as opposed to the pillow stuffing. This has the added benefit of not bunching when its washed.
Tie up the fourth side when the batting has been added.
These are fully machine washable although I do line dry mine to keep them from pulling up so much in the dryer.
