Cordless Drill

Every home has the need of a drill at some point and selecting one is usually a matter of simply walking to the tool or hardware department and putting your money down, but it shouldn’t be.

Choosing a drill thats going to do what you need it to do and last for a reasonable amount of time should take a bit of consideration, but the truth is that a lot of us don’t know what it is that we need to consider.
I personally prefer the cordless model for obvious reasons.

When you’ve got a cordless drill with you, you can do pretty much any drilling or driving job easily, regardless of where they are, and when you’re on a job site, if you’re a professional, helping a buddy or just fixing something inside your own house, the cordless model can go where you go with ease.
It fits places you can’t drag an extension cord and drills, fastnes, screws, hangs doors, puts up shelving and cabinets much the same way the corded variety does, only easier.
Ask yourself, before you buy:
What kind of jobs are you going to use it for
How much power do you anticipate needing
What kind of battery, or how long lasting will you need
Are there any special options you think you might like

The only real quality that I find important is power.
While this is always positive, there is a down side too. It’s always possible to have too much, so that if your plan is to use the drill for light drilling and driving, there isn’t much sense in spending all the extra its going to cost to get the biggest baddest drill in the tool section, because chances are its going to be too much.
It will spin off the heads of your screws if you aren’t careful.
Also bear in mind battery size and limitations.. It truly isn’t much fun to have your drill keel over and be out of power in the middle of a job, and nothing but nothing is more irritating.
Drills vary greatly, and the next higher price range may be a different battery, or charger that you would prefer, so consider them all before you purchase.

Drills in different price ranges have different batteries, chargers and other features, so determine what your needs are before you purchase.

Home Depot Recommends:
” Voltage is the primary indicator of how powerful a cordless drill is. It can range from around 6V to as high as 36V. Lower-voltage drills are ideal for lighter tasks such as replacing door hinges, installing new handles on cabinets or drilling holes in drywall. More powerful drills can be used for drilling into masonry or steel or installing decking. Bear in mind that in most cases the more powerful a drill is”
